African American Quilts and Quilters
"Hush Child, Sometimes you can hear them"

This fun and informative talk began as a special event for UC Santa Cruz and has grown and changed along the way. The audience will hear a little quilt history, family history and my history as a quilter. You will also hear about quilting during slavery and after emancipation.

"So You Want to be a Quilt Diva"

Come along on my journey as a quilter and designer. Get the inside scoop on how I became a Quilt Diva. Share my joys and learning experiences from my first Guild workshop through my tour on the National teaching circuit, designer for the Bernina Fashion Show and writing and publishing my first book. Find out all of the things that Diva's don't do!

Inspiration and Creativity

What inspires us to create delightful quilts and fashionable garments? How do we jump start our creativity when we face a blank design wall? Join me for a look at where I got my inspiration for my quilts and garments. Enjoy a demonstration of new tools and techniques and a hands-on trunk show of quilts and garments.
