Students choose their favorite designer fabric and create a jacket using a purchased sweatshirt for the foundation. Students will learn the basic techniques for creating the jacket. This will include preparing their foundation, adding embellishments, and decorative sewing machine stitches.

Each student will create a one-of-a-kind vest based on a landscape, seascape, or trip. We will use raw-edged appliqué, fabric collage, decorative stitching and machine quilting to preserve our special memories in fabric. This vest uses a muslin foundation for the base and the students favorite simple vest pattern.

Students will take an ordinary sweatshirt and turn it into an extraordinary jacket. We will use your "special" stash fabrics, combine them with your favorite coordinating pieces and create a wearable art wonder using raw-edged machine appliqué, decorative stitches and machine quilting. This class is a wonderful introduction to art-to-wear. Students will create a one of a kind vest using their favorite vest pattern, machine appliqué and bias strips. This is a fun class to showcase your favorite fabric.

Each student will create a one-of-a-kind jacket based on a memorable event, trip or special occasion. We will use raw edged appliqué, decorative stitching and machine quilting to preserve our special memories in fabric. This jacket uses a purchased sweatshirt for the foundation. Students will create a whimsical portrait using ultra suede and decorative stitches. This is a fun class to let you creative inner child run free. The facial features are created by cutting bits of ultra suede and using decorative stitches, beads and lots of embellishments. This is a great class for playing with couched fibers, free form cutting and exploring the use of multiple decorative stitches.

Students will create a "scrapbook" quilt without using photos! The quilt will record memories that are special to the quilter. Each panel can showcase a single event or several different scenes. Techniques include raw-edged appliqué, decorative stitching, thread painting and machine quilting.

This class teaches beginners several advanced techniques. The Drunkards Path blocks that form the medallion can be "set" in several different ways to form the center.
Day one: Students design their center medallion and complete the sawtooth border.
Day two: Students design their appliqué, set the medallion "on point" and complete their outer border design. This is a fun design class for those with an adventures spirit.

This technique was shown on Simply Quilts, episode #716. Students will create a background (either whole cloth or pieced) and design a mask made from Ultra suede. The Mask can be ethnic, cultural, occupational, fantasy or a self-portrait. The facial features are created using decorative stitches, beads and lots of embellishments. This is a great class for exploring the use of multiple decorative stitch patterns.

Using the Drunkards Path block, students will create this whimsical table runner. The turtle heads and tails can be left to flutter in the wind or stitched to the background. This is a great class to learn the three pin method for sewing curves.
